Josh Davey

Josh Davey   In August 2009 Josh signed a 3- year contract with Middlesex Cricket Club.

A dream come true for Josh who now trains with a host of high-profile players such as England Captain Andrew Strauss, Owais Shah and Eoin Morgan.

After playing cricket for Suffolk County at all age groups since the age of 10 Josh showed a lot of natural ability and soon became a key member of the local teams. At the age of 13 he won a Sports Scholarship to Culford School.

In September 2007 after a successful cricket season with his School and the local Premier League club Josh wanted to become a professional cricketer and train through the winter. After searching the internet and asking our local cricket 'experts' we found the Gary Palmer Academy and on the 28th October 2007 we were on our way to Oxford for a trial.

Gary did not take long to make up his mind and every other Sunday for the next 20 weeks we were up before dawn to start the 320 mile round trip. The training sessions lasted all day, they were very intensive with Gary and 2 or 3 professional coaches keeping the players focused and working hard at all aspects of their game. Josh enjoyed the sessions and without doubt his around game developed to a new level.

At one of the sessions Josh was spotted by Middlesex scouts and a business card changed hands!
